Cooperative employees gain recognition at statewide association’s annual meeting.
Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative’s (CVEC) statewide trade association, the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives (IAEC), conducted its 2023 Annual Meeting at the Sheraton West Des Moines Conference Center on December 7 and 8 with more than 350 registered attendees. Board directors and employees from Iowa’s locally owned electric co-ops received informative updates from statewide board and staff in addition to learning about industry trends and best practices from invited speakers.
During the event, CVEC employees were recognized for several accomplishments.
25-Year Awardees
During the business meeting portion of the annual meeting, the statewide association honored several electric co-op employees and directors who celebrated 25 years of service in 2023, including Thad DeMoss and Mike Gibler from Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc.
“Thad and Mike’s 25-year journey with the cooperative is a testament to their dedication, resilience and leadership,” said CVEC CEO/General Manager Troy Amoss.
Cooperative Leadership in Iowa Program
IAEC also celebrated the first 15 graduates of its new Cooperative Leadership in Iowa Program (CLIP) for emerging leaders. Participants committed to a yearlong calendar of in-person, virtual and on-demand training sessions where they gained leadership skills and learned about various co-op roles. CVEC’s Human Resources/Administrative Assistant Ashley Tratchel was one of the 15 to complete the new program.
“Ashley put in the hard work and dedication to graduate from this program. Her professional growth, accomplishments and knowledge will continue to help our cooperative thrive,” said CVEC CEO/General Manager Troy Amoss.
CVEC is proud to have employees on our team who are dedicated to their work and to advancing the cooperative to better serve our members. Congratulations Thad, Mike, and Ashley!
