Chariton Valley Electric is proud to partner with Take Control & Save (TC&S) energy-efficiency programs to help you save.

Take Control and Save!

2,025,012,723 kilowatt-hours. That’s a lot of energy! In this case, it’s the electricity members like you are projected to save through their investment to date in efficient appliances, light bulbs and equipment installed and rebated through the Take Control & Save (TC&S) energy-efficiency program that is provided by Associated Electric Cooperative (AECI) and local cooperatives served by AECI, like your cooperative.

Note: All rebates $250 or less will be automatically applied to your electric account as a bill credit.

Energy Efficient Air Source Heat Pump Rebate Program

  • Any new Energy Star Air to Air Heat Pump or Mini Split Heat Pump rated between 14.5 and 16.4 SEER: $150 per ton.

  • Any new Energy Star Dual Fuel Air to Air Heat Pump or Mini Split Heat Pump rated 16.5 SEER or greater: $300 per ton.

  • Total rebate not to exceed $300 per ton

Air Source Heat Pump Printable Rebate Form

 

Criteria:

  • Heat Pump must be installed on a Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative account

  • Purchase of a NEW heat pump or mini-split unit 

  • New unit must be Energy Star rated

  • Account is required to use 6,000 or more kilowatt-hours annually

  • Maximum of 10 tons of rated capacity per facility

  • Copy of original dated sales receipt must be submitted with application

  • Copy of AHRI Certificate of Product Rating must be submitted with application

ENERGY STAR® Appliance Rebate Program

  • $50 rebate for Refrigerator, Electric Clothes Dryer, Electric Range/Oven

  • $25 rebate for Dishwasher, Clothes Washer, Freezer/Deep Freeze

RESIDENTIAL REBATE APPLICATION

COMMERCIAL REBATE APPLICATION

Appliance Rebate Printable Form

 

 

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • Appliance must be installed on a Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative account

  • Appliance must be NEW, purchased January 1, 2020 or after

  • Refrigerators must be a minimum of 18 cubic feet storage capacity

  • Copy of original dated sales receipt must be submitted with application within 6 months of purchase

  • The appliance must be ENERGY STAR® rated (find ratings at energystar.gov or on the yellow packaging label)

  • Limit of $250 per CVEC member account per year in total appliance rebates

  • Only one of each type of appliance may be rebated per year per membership

Business LED Lighting Rebate Program

  • Call CVEC for details 

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • Rebate available to commercial, industrial and agricultural cooperative business members

  • New construction NOT eligible for this rebate

  • Rebate is designed for retrofit/replacement of existing non-LED lighting with new LEDs

  • Minimum of 10 bulbs or fixtures at the facility to qualify

  • Rebate amount is determined PRIOR to installation and calculated based on an audit, conducted by CVEC, of existing and replacement lighting 

  • Total rebate will not exceed 40% of the total LED equipment cost (labor not included)

  • Total rebate amount is limited to $30,000 per member per year

  • Members must provide CVEC details of existing bulbs and fixtures, hours of use, new LED bulbs/fixtures and paid invoice

Energy Efficient Central Air Conditioner Rebate Program

  • Energy Star rated Central Air Conditioner: Rebate of $50 for minimum SEER rating of 14; then an additional $50 per 0.5 SEER above 14.

Criteria:

  • Central Air Conditioner (CA) must be installed on Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative account

  • CA must be a NEW unit Energy Star rated with a minimum of SEER rating of 14 SEER

  • Copy of original dated sales receipt must be submitted with application

  • Copy of AHRI Certificate of Product Rating must be submitted with application

  • Account is required to use 6,000 kilowatt-hours annually

Energy Efficient Ground Source Heat Pump Rebate Program

  • New GSHP are eligible for insulation rebate up to $500

  • New Complete Install of Energy Star GSHP of 19.1 EER or greater up to: $750 per ton

  • Replacement of indoor GSHP unit only with gain of 3 EER up to $150 per ton

Criteria:

  • GSHP must be installed on Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative account

  • ​GSHP must be a NEW unit capable of heating and cooling entire conditioned space

  • Limit of 10 tons of rated capacity per member account

  • Limit of one (1) rebate per member address

  • Copy of original dated sales receipt must be submitted with application

  • Copy of AHRI Certificate of Product Rating must be submitted with application

  • Account is required to use 6,000 or more kilowatt-hours annually

  • Copy of manual J calculations must be submitted with application

  • See rebate form for insulation and manual J minimum specifications

High-Efficiency Motor Rebate Program

COMMERICAL REBATE APPLICATION

High Efficiency Rebate Printable Form

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • Rebate is designed for new and/or existing commercial businesses

  • All motors must meet NEMA Premium Standards

  • All old motors must be properly disposed of

  • Rebate amount is limited to 50 percent (50%) of the total cost of the unit

Home Energy Audit & Weatherization

  • Professional Energy Audits available for all CVEC members

  • Submit the Home Energy Audit Request Form to CVEC along with the $100 audit fee

  • CVEC will connect our member with the energy auditor to schedule the audit appointment

  • Member will receive an Energy Efficiency weatherization kit from the energy auditor during the audit

  • Member will receive $50 from the cooperative if corrective weatherization actions were taken as suggested during the energy audit

  • Member will also be eligible for an incentive of up to 50% of the cost, with a cap of $500, for eligible corrective actions after the energy audit has been performed

RESIDENTIAL REBATE APPLICATION

WEATHERIZATION PRINTABLE FORM

 

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • Rebate available for existing and new homes

  • CVEC member must pay $100 fee to start the audit process

  • Energy Audit must be completed prior to eligibility for the $500 incentive

  • Rebate application must include a copy of the original dated sales receipt for corrective weatherization actions

  • Eligible corrective measures include labor and materials for insulation, building shell sealing and interior duct sealing/insulation

  • Costs for insulation or repair of HVAC equipment or the purchase of appliances are not eligible for a weatherization rebate

Mini-Split Rebate Program

  • Any new mini-split unit with ENERGY STAR® rating of 17 SEER or greater: $300 per ton

RESIDENTIAL REBATE APPLICATION

COMMERCIAL REBATE APPLICATION

Mini Split Printable Rebate Form

 

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • The structure in which the member resides must be a permanent structure on a permanent foundation on land owned by the member

  • Rebates limited to eligible services (homes, lake homes, shops, barns, etc.) that use 6,000 or more kilowatt-hours annually

  • ​Equipment must be installed by a certified dealer 

  • Must meet the ENERGY STAR® +2 SEER rating of 17.0

  • Mini-split heat pumps cannot use electric resistance heat for back-up

  • Rebates are limited to a maximum of 10 tons residential and 50 tons commercial of rated capacity per facility

  • "Space Heating:" the heat pump may be used to replace existing heat pumps, electric resistance or fossil fuel equipment in the home

  • Limit of two rebates per application (attach additional sheets for more than two units)

  • Rebate amount is limited to 50 percent (50%) of the total cost of the unit

Programmable Timer for Engine Block Heater Rebate Program

  • Any new programmable engine block heater timer: $15

PROGRAMMABLE TIMER REBATE APPLICATION

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • Must be a programmable timer

  • Timer requirements:

    1. Heavy-duty and designed for the outdoors

    2. Cold weather resistant

    3. Rated for a minimum of 15 amps or 1,800 watts capacity

  • Rebate amount is limited to 50 percent (50%) of the total cost of the unit

ENERGY STAR® Advanced Programmable Smart Thermostat Rebate Program

  • Any new ENERGY STAR® rated programmable smart thermostat: $50

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • The new smart thermostat must be ENERGY STAR® rated Limit of up to two (2) per member address/location

  • Rebate available for existing and new homes

  • Rebate amount is limited to 50 percent (50%) of the total cost

Energy Efficient Room Air Conditioner Rebate Program

  • Any Energy Star room air conditioner: $50

Air Conditioner Printable Rebate Form

 

Criteria:

  • Room air conditioner must be installed on a Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative account

  • Purchase of NEW air conditioner from dealer of member’s choice

  • Limit of one (1) unit rebate per member address

  • Account is required to use 6,000 or more kilowatt-hours annually

  • Air conditioner must be Energy Star rated 

  • Copy of original dated sales receipt must be submitted with application

Variable Frequency Drives for H.V.A.C Pumps/Fans Rebate Program

  • $50 rebate amount per brake horsepower

COMMERCIAL REBATE APPLICATION

VFD HVAC Printable Rebate Form

 

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • Rebate is designed for new and existing commercial businesses

  • VFD must be controlled

  • This rebate is NOT for the replacement of existing VFDs

  • Applications include: hot water pump, chilled water pump and HVAC fan

  • Types of VFD HVAC fans include: constant volume, air foil/backward inlet, air foil inlet guide vanes, forward curves and forward curved inlet guide vanes

  • Rebate amount is limited to 50 percent (50%) of the total cost of the unit

Energy Efficient Water Heater Rebate Program

  • $250 rebate for New Construction, Electric to Electric Replacement, and Gas to Electric Replacement.

Criteria:

  • Water Heater must be installed on a Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative account

  • Water Heater must be a NEW unit of 40 gallon or larger unit with an efficiency rating of 0.90 or greater

  • Limit of two (2) units per member address

  • Copy of original dated sales receipt must be submitted with application

  • Account is required to use 6,000 or more kilowatt-hours annually

 

 

Energy Efficient Heat Pump Water Heater Rebate Program

  • Up to $700 rebate for new construction or water heater replacement

HEAT PUMP WATER HEATER REBATE APPLICATION

Criteria:

  • Must be a CVEC member in good standing with the cooperative 

  • The appliance must be ENERGY STAR® rated

  • Tankless water heaters and gas water heaters are NOT eligible for this program

  • Limit of two (2) units per member address/location

  • Rebates are available for existing and new homes

  • Rebate applies only to 40 gallon or larger heat pump water heaters

  • Rebate amount is limited to 50 percent (50%) of the total cost of the unit

  • If new unit replaces an old unit, the efficiency rating of the old unit must be less than 0.9

 

Electric Vehicle Charging Station Rebate 

  • $250 rebate for Level 2 Charger

EV CHARGING STATION REBATE APPLICATION

Criteria:

  • Equipment must be new and UL listed

  • CVEC reserves the right to complete an on-site inspection of the charger after installation

  • Must provide proof of purchase within 90 days

  • Limit of two (2) rebates per member location

  • Copy of original dated sales receipt must be submitted with application

  • Account is required to use 6,000 or more kilowatt-hours annually
