The Iowa Utilities Commission has issued an order adopting rules for RMU 89-24, “Complaint Procedures”. This requires the following process.
If any consumer-member of Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. is in need of assistance concerning the electric rate, billing process, quality of service, employees, etc., please call Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. at 641 932-7126 or 800 475-1702 anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday - or write the cooperative at P.O. Box 486, Albia, IA 52531-0486.
If your complaint is related to Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc., service rather than its rates - and the cooperative does not resolve your complaint - you may contact the Iowa Utilities Commission toll-free at 877-565-4450. Low income customers also may be eligible for free legal assistance from Iowa Legal Aid at 800-532-1275.
