Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative Awards Operation Round Up Funds to Three Local Organizations.

The Chariton Valley Electric Operation Round Up® Foundation Board is proud to announce the recipients of Operation Round Up®’s 2021 fourth quarter funds to three local non-profit organizations.

In January, the Operation Round Up® Foundation Board reviewed the submitted applications and awarded funds to the following three applicants, totaling $8,000.

The Albia Police Department was awarded $2,500 to aid in the purchase of a drone and the necessary training for local police operations. These funds will help law enforcement locate missing or wanted persons and will increase the safety of citizens and officers.

The Carnegie-Evans Public Library in Albia was awarded $4,500 where the funds will be utilized to advance the public library as they move to an integrated library management system. This system will allow the library to better serve the community through ease of use, collection development and management and ability to increase funding at the state level.

The Drake Public Library Foundation in Centerville was awarded $1,000 to aid in their unique story walk project that consists of displays set along the Centerville City Park walking trail where participates can read the story as they walk the path. Their hopes are to increase interest in outdoor physical activity through a literacy-based activity.

CVEC is grateful our members continue to donate their small change each month that is impacting lives locally. We hope our membership continues to see the value and benefit this program brings to the communities we serve.

If you would like your non-profit organization to be considered for an Operation Round Up® grant, please visit our website at www.cvrec.com to complete the application documents by March 31, 2022.

If you are unsure if you are contributing to CVEC’s Operation Round Up® program and wish to do so, please contact our office at 641.932.7126 or visit our website at www.cvrec.com.
