Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative Awards Operation Round Up Funds to a Local Organization.
The Chariton Valley Electric Operation Round Up® Foundation Board is proud to announce the recipient of Operation Round Up®’s 2022 fourth quarter funds.
The Welcome Home Soldier Monument was awarded $5,000 to aid in lighting the trail that encompasses the monument with illuminated bollards from each branch of service with veteran’s names cut into each one. Lighting the trail will enable visitors to enjoy the monument day or night.
The Welcome Home Soldier Monument is located on Highway 34 just west of the Albia city limits. It is a public monument created to honor all United States Veterans, living or deceased, in the nation's heartland. It is the desire of the Welcome Home Soldier Committee to build and maintain a monument that will honor our nation’s veterans – past, present, and future.
CVEC is grateful our members continue to donate their small change each month that is impacting lives locally. We hope our membership continues to see the value and benefit this program brings to the communities we serve.
