Meet Your Board of Directors
CVEC's territory is divided into 5 districts, represented by the proportional number of board seats for each district. Director terms are staggered in a set three-year rotation, where directors are nominated by petition, placed on the official ballot and elected each year by the membership at the Chariton Valley Electric Annual Meeting in August.

Marchelle Brown has served on Chariton Valley Electric’s Board of Directors since 2018. Brown currently serves as the Treasurer for CVEC’s Board of Directors. Marchelle has taken several courses as she works towards receiving her Credentialed Cooperative Director Certification.

Jerry was elected to serve on CVEC's Board of Directors in August of 2019, although he has been a member of CVEC for the past 49 years. Jerry strives to be of service to our members by keeping costs down.

Randy was elected to serve on CVEC's Board of Directors in August of 2020 and currently serves as the Board's Vice President. He previously served on the Chariton Valley Electric Board of Directors for 6 years earning his CCD and BLC accreditations.

Wesley Green has served as a director on Chariton Valley Electric’s Board since 2012. Green has taken over 18 courses to receive his Credentialed Cooperative Director Certification, Board Leadership Certification and Director Gold Credential Certification.

John was elected to serve on CVEC's Board of Directors in August of 2021. John brings substation and electric utility construction knowledge, budget and finance experience, as well as project management experience to the board and the membership. As a board member, John's focus is to improve the electric system, control spending, while also improving line equipment and construction techniques.

Michael Miller has served on Chariton Valley Electric’s Board of Directors since 1990. Over his 30 years on the Board, Miller has served as President and Vice President. Kenneth VandenBerg has served as a director on Chariton Valley Electric’s Board since 2010. VandenBerg is CVEC’s current Board President. Kenny previously served as the Board’s Secretary. While serving on the Board, VandenBerg has taken over 16 courses to receive his Credentialed Cooperative Director Certification, Board Leadership Certification and Director Gold Credential Certification. Kenny also represents District 1 on the Iowa Association of Electric Cooperative’s Statewide Board.
